Swiss International opens Development and Representation office; aims to grow to 20 hotels in India
Swiss International has announced the opening of a new office for Development and Representation in Gurgaon for Southern Asia, with an emphasis on India, given the fact that Make-In-India and Digital-India initiative as announced by Government of India are going to give great impetus to hospitality sector.
This is a result of an agreement between "Swiss International" and " Innovest Ventures" of India. The agreement is part of the companies' shared strategy to build a solid presence in the Indian hospitality market. The objective of the cooperation is to open 20 hotels under Swiss International brands within the next 5 years enabling investment to the tune of 200 million dollars.
Kapil Singhal, Managing Director of the newly formed Swiss International Hotels & Resorts (India) said, "India's hotel market is going through a rapid expansion particularly in the mid & upscale market with special emphasis on vacation destinations. The growing middle class is traveling on business and with their families for leisure purposes. An international brand is appealing for these customers. Swiss International as always assures quality. The franchise - and management formula of Swiss International is complete, and it gears very much on the e-commerce model and capitalizes around the reputation management systems. We can benefit tremendously from their extensive experience and know-how.
"Henri W.R. Kennedie, CEO & Managing Director of Swiss International Hotels & Resorts added, "Swiss International is very actively present in the growth of the hotel markets of the world, such as China, Middle East (GCC countries) and Africa. India is logically, the next site. In Innovest Group, we have found the right partner to develop Swiss International in India. Combined with our international standards, we create a management company that will be able to strongly develop in the area in the next couple of years."
